Bodegas y Vinedos del Paramo was founded in 2009 by Professor of Viticulture Pedro Gonzalez Mittelbrun. He has been instrumental in the resurrection of Castilla y Leon’s local variety, the Prieto Picudo.
The 2010 Flor del Paramo Prieto Picudo Rosado is medium pink in color with an enticing perfume of cherry blossom, strawberry, and pomegranate. On the palate it reveals a fruity character suggestive of at least some carbonic maceration. Full-flavored, dry, and spicy, it will provide enjoyment over the next 12-18 months
Deep, bright pink. Wild, highly aromatic scents of pink grapefruit, redcurrant, orange zest and herbs. Dry, tightly wound and energetic, offering fresh red berry and bitter cherry flavors underscored by tangy minerality. Finishes dry, with good nervy cut and a lingering tangy quality. This should be extremely flexible at the table.
