Wine Pairing:  2007 Cantine Dei Marchesi di Incisa Della Rochetta Roero Arneis, $14

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 pod garlic, chopped
  • 3/4 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 (14-16 oz.) bottle catsup
  • 1 (#2) can tomatoes
  • 1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • Thin spaghetti, amount desired
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

Saute meat, onion, and pepper. Add other ingredients; bring to slow boil. Turn fire very low, cover skillet and simmer for 45 minutes. Boil spaghetti per package. Serve with hot garlic bread or rolls and a tossed salad.

Serves 6-8.
